( marc thinks of the harried, stressed calls hal had tried to make to marc again and again. marc remembers ignoring the calls, remembers brushing hal off, remembers coming up with every excuse under the sun to avoid the topic of HIS FINANCES and investigations into his accounts, into why he needed helicopter fuel, into what the myriad of moon knight expenses were and why marc had no answers.
it had always been steven's thing, and marc had spent a year or so pretending he was perfectly competent and capable of running a business, and had a manged only to run into the ground.
if hal had been embezzling funds (he hadn't), it was probably deserved, marc thinks. he'd been a nightmare to work for. )
